What Are Infused Pre-Rolls? Do They Hit Harder?

Quick Answer

An infused pre-roll is a joint made with flower plus added concentrate, such as THCa isolate, diamonds, hash or distillate. Yes, it usually hits harder: ours land around 50% THC against 28 to 36% for the plain version of the same strain. Light it evenly, take a few draws, then rest it.

Infused Joints · The Basics

What Is an Infused Pre-Roll?

A regular pre-roll is cannabis flower in a paper cone, ready to light. An infused pre-roll (also sold as an infused joint) starts the same way and then adds concentrate: a layer of extract worked into or onto the flower, so the joint carries more THC than the bud alone could.

The label on the pack tells you how much it adds. Plain pre-rolls from our pre-rolls list 28 to 36% THC. The infused versions of the same strains list around 50%. Browse the full infused pre-rolls collection to see how each strain compares.

It is a flower product with a concentrate boost, so you need nothing but a lighter. No rig, no dab tool, no torch.

Hash · Distillate · Diamonds · THCa

How Are Infused Pre-Rolls Made?

The method depends on the concentrate. Recipes vary by producer, but the common ones look like this:

Infusion How it is added What to expect
Hash or kiefMixed into the flower or rolled through the coneEarthy, heavier flavour; can burn unevenly
Distillate or oilA spray or brush coat, mostly flavourlessAdds strength; too much can tunnel or clog
Live resin or rosinGlazed on or layered inStrongest flavour; sticky to handle
THCa isolate or diamondsInfused through the flower, or crystals rolled on the outsideCleanest flavour; potency jumps

Terms like double, triple or quad infused usually mean several of these layers stacked in one joint. Brand shorthand varies, so read what is actually in the pack, not the name.

Ours are infused with 99.9% THCa isolate, which adds punch without changing the taste of the strain. THCa is the raw form of THC, and the heat of your lighter converts it as you smoke. Each cone is whole milled flower, not shake or trim, so you taste the strain first and the isolate just adds strength. That isolate comes from our own extraction, the flower is ours, and the cones are rolled in-house. Our THCA diamonds come out of the same lab.

Strength · Pacing

Do Infused Pre-Rolls Hit Harder?

Yes, in general. More THC per gram means a stronger hit and a faster climb, so one infused cone commonly does the work of two or three plain ones. Across our packs the maths is about 50% against 28 to 36%, so a bit under one and a half to nearly two times stronger, not quite double. Worth knowing before you assume.

Some people say the effects feel heavier and last longer than a plain joint, which is what you would expect from a higher dose. Strain still sets the direction. The Death Bubba infused pre-rolls and Gas Mask infused pre-rolls are indicas that people commonly reach for in the evening. The Frumpz infused pre-rolls and Bread and Butter infused pre-rolls are hybrids that people usually describe as relaxed and happy.

The practical rule: treat an infused joint like a strong drink, not a casual one. If you are new to cannabis or have a low tolerance, start with a plain pre-roll first. If you want a single heavy roll, the 2G Atomic Diamond Roll is Frumpz flower glazed in liquid THCa diamonds and then rolled in THCa crystals, at 69% THC. It is built for experienced smokers.

Infused vs Regular Pre-Rolls: What Changes Besides Strength?

Flavour

It depends on what is in the cone. Hash, rosin and live resin bring their own taste and can mute the strain. THCa isolate is nearly flavourless, so an isolate-infused cone still tastes like the flower it was made from. Our packs follow the strain: earthy diesel on Death Bubba, sweet vanilla and nut on Bread and Butter, fruity candy on Frumpz.

Burn

Extra concentrate makes the cone a bit denser, so infused joints often burn slower and steadier than plain flower. They can also run hotter at the cherry, which is why slow draws matter. A heavily oiled joint is the one most likely to tunnel or clog, which is the main reason people avoid cheap versions.

Smell and shelf life

Smell mostly follows the flower. Isolate adds strength, not scent. Storage works like any pre-roll: airtight, cool and dark, and out of a hot car or a sunny window.

Experience

The difference people notice is how fast it builds. A plain joint creeps up. An infused one climbs sooner and higher, which is why a few draws go a long way.

How to Smoke an Infused Pre-Roll

  • Light the tip evenly. Turn the cone as you light so the whole end catches. A lopsided light is the main cause of one side burning and the other not.
  • Draw gently. Hard, fast pulls heat the infusion too quickly and make the cone burn hot and harsh. Slow, steady draws keep the burn even.
  • Take a few, then rest it. Infused cones put out and relight cleanly. At this strength, a few draws is a fair first go and there is no prize for finishing.
  • Share it. One cone suits two or three people, or a few sessions for one.
  • Handle the glazed ones by the tip. A diamond-glazed roll like the Atomic is sticky, so keep it away from heat and handle it gently before you light it.

If a joint will not pull, rolling it gently between your fingers to loosen the flower, or clearing the tip, usually fixes it. More on that in the FAQ below.

Price Per Gram · Per mg of THC

Infused vs Regular Pre-Rolls: What Do You Actually Pay?

The infused pack costs more, but you also get more THC per gram. Here is the current lineup, with a rough cost per milligram of THC worked out from the label percentage (label maths, not what reaches you when you smoke):

Pack Price Per gram THC Cost / mg THC
Plain pre-roll pack (10 x 0.7g)$39.99$5.7128-36%1.9¢
Infused pre-roll pack (10 x 0.7g)$54.99$7.86~50%1.6¢
2G Atomic Diamond Roll$49.99$25.0069%3.6¢

So the 10-pack of infused cones costs a little more per gram and a little less per milligram of THC than the plain version. The single Atomic roll is a different thing: you pay for the diamonds and the 2g size, and it is a one-roll event rather than a pack.

How to Choose an Infused Pre-Roll

  • Pick the strain for the mood. Indicas for evenings, hybrids for something more social. Each product page lists the lineage and the label THC.
  • Pick the format for the way you smoke. A 10-pack of 0.7g cones suits sharing and pacing. A single 2g roll is for a session when you want one big joint.
  • Check your tolerance honestly. If a plain pre-roll already feels strong, begin with a few draws.

Infused Pre-Roll FAQ

Are infused pre-rolls worth the extra money?

Usually, if you want more strength. By label percentage, a 10-pack of our infused cones costs slightly less per milligram of THC than the plain version, though it costs more per gram. If you only want a mellow smoke, a plain pre-roll is the better buy.

Why won't my infused joint pull, or why does it clog?

Usually it is the oil. Distillate and other sticky coats soften with heat and gum up the cone. Our infused packs use dry THCa isolate powder on whole flower instead, so there is no oil to tighten the pull. The Atomic Diamond Roll is the exception: it is glazed in liquid diamonds, so keep it tip-up and expect it to get sticky. With any infused joint, light it evenly, draw slowly and rest it between pulls.

What does "quad infused" or "triple infused" mean?

It usually means several concentrate layers in one joint, for example distillate, kief and diamonds. The count is brand shorthand, so check what is actually in the pack and the label THC before you compare two joints.

What is a diamond infused pre-roll?

A joint with THCA diamonds added, either glazed onto the flower as liquid diamonds or rolled around the outside as crystals. Our Atomic Diamond Roll does both: Frumpz AAAA flower glazed in liquid THCA diamonds, then rolled in THCA crystals, listed at 69% THC. It is one big joint, so take a few draws and rest it.

Do infused pre-rolls go bad?

Like any flower, they dry out and lose flavour over time. Keep them in an airtight container somewhere cool and dark, and keep glazed rolls away from heat, so the coating does not soften.

How long does an infused pre-roll last?

A 0.7g cone is about a session shared between two or three people, or several short sessions for one person. The single 2g Atomic roll lasts longer and is meant to be split or spread over a few sittings.
