THC Vapes

A THC vape is a battery-powered device that heats cannabis oil into an inhalable vapour instead of burning flower. It comes two ways: an all-in-one disposable pen, or a refillable 510-thread cartridge that screws onto a rechargeable battery. At VanCity Labs, every vape is filled with distillate extracted in-house from BC cannabis.

About THC Vapes

THC vapes are a popular, low-effort way to consume cannabis. Instead of combusting dried flower, a vape gently heats cannabis oil β€” usually distillate or live resin β€” until the cannabinoids and terpenes turn to vapour you inhale. The category covers two main formats: all-in-one disposable pens that come pre-filled and pre-charged, and 510-thread cartridges that screw onto a reusable battery. The "510" simply refers to the universal threading that lets most carts and batteries work together. Cannabis extracts, including vapes, became legal in Canada on October 17, 2019, in the second wave of legalization.

VanCity Labs is a vertically integrated BC cannabis operation, and our vape oil is extracted in-house from our own BC cannabis β€” the same in-house extraction lab that makes our concentrates. We fill our pens with distillate, blended with strain-specific terpenes and no cutting agents or fillers. Every batch is finished to Lab Grade standards. How THC Vapes Work

A vape works by heating cannabis oil rather than burning it. Inside every cartridge is a small heating element (an atomizer or coil) that warms the oil until its cannabinoids and terpenes vaporise β€” no flame, and no smoke from combusted plant material. Coils are usually ceramic or cotton-wicked; ceramic tends to handle heat more evenly. Disposable pens are draw-activated and recycled when empty, while 510 batteries are rechargeable and often let you adjust voltage.

The oil itself comes in a few forms. Distillate is highly refined cannabis oil, commonly labelled around 85–95% THC, with terpenes added back for flavour. Live resin is made from fresh, flash-frozen cannabis and keeps more of the plant's natural terpenes. Solventless options like rosin are pressed using only heat and pressure. Each is a different process β€” not a different promise.

How VanCity Labs Makes Its Vapes

Every vape we sell is filled in-house at our BC facility. VanCity Labs has been working in cannabis for over 30 years as a vertically integrated operation β€” we grow the flower, run the extraction, and fill the hardware ourselves, with no middlemen and no third-party brands. Our distillate is extracted in-house from our own BC cannabis and blended with strain-specific terpenes β€” no cutting agents or fillers. Every batch is finished to Lab Grade standards for consistent oil. Orders ship in Stealth Packaging across Canada by tracked courier β€” discreet by default.

Our Vape Formats

VanCity Labs makes vapes in two formats. Disposable dab pens come pre-filled and pre-charged β€” no charging, no refilling β€” and are available in 1g and 2g sizes across a range of strains. For a reusable setup, a 510-thread cartridge screws onto any standard 510 battery, so you keep the battery and swap the cart. Both are filled with the same in-house distillate and strain-specific terpenes. Not sure which strain suits you? Take the strain quiz or browse the strain library. Prefer not to vape? Frequently Asked Questions

What is a THC vape?

A THC vape is a device that heats cannabis oil into an inhalable vapour instead of burning dried flower. It comes as an all-in-one disposable pen, or as a refillable 510-thread cartridge paired with a rechargeable battery. The oil is usually distillate or live resin containing cannabinoids and terpenes.

What's the difference between a disposable pen and a 510 cartridge?

A disposable pen has the battery and oil sealed in one unit β€” it comes charged and ready, and you recycle it when empty. A 510-thread cartridge holds only the oil and screws onto a reusable battery, so you keep the battery and replace just the cart. Both heat the same kind of oil.

What is distillate, and how is it different from live resin?

Distillate is highly refined cannabis oil, commonly labelled around 85–95% THC, with terpenes added back for flavour. Live resin is made from fresh, flash-frozen cannabis and keeps more of the plant's natural terpenes. The difference is how each is made and its terpene content β€” both are concentrated cannabis oil.

How are VanCity Labs vapes made?

Every VanCity Labs vape is filled in-house at our BC facility. We are a vertically integrated operation with over 30 years in cannabis β€” no middlemen and no third-party brands. Our distillate is extracted in-house from our own BC cannabis and blended with strain-specific terpenes, with no cutting agents or fillers.

What's in the oil β€” are there any cutting agents?

Our vape oil is in-house distillate blended with strain-specific terpenes β€” no cutting agents or fillers. Each product page lists the strain and labelled THC content, so you know exactly what is in the pen.

How do I use and charge a 510 battery?

A 510 cartridge screws onto any standard 510-thread battery. Most batteries are either draw-activated or turned on with five clicks of the button, and many let you adjust voltage β€” lower settings favour flavour, higher settings produce more vapour. Disposable pens need no charging or setup; they arrive ready to use.

How should I store a vape cartridge?

Store cartridges upright in a cool, dark place, away from direct heat and sunlight, which can thin the oil or degrade its terpenes. Avoid the fridge or freezer, since cold thickens the oil and temperature swings cause condensation. For long-term storage, disconnect the cart from the battery.
