Pre-Rolls

A pre-roll is a pre-rolled joint: ready-to-smoke cannabis that's already ground, rolled, and packaged — no grinding or rolling required. Most hold 0.5g to 1g of flower in a paper cone with a tip. At VanCity Labs, pre-rolls are milled from whole BC Bud flower, single-strain, with infused options added in-house.

About Pre-Rolls and Pre-Rolled Joints

A pre-roll is a cannabis joint that comes ready to smoke — the flower is already ground, rolled into a paper cone with a tip, and packaged, so there's nothing to prepare. Pre-rolls are sold as singles or in multi-packs, commonly in 0.5g and 1g sizes. They are part of the dried-flower category, legal in Canada since October 2018, and have grown into one of the most popular formats in the legal market — especially as infused pre-rolls have taken off.

VanCity Labs is a vertically integrated BC cannabis operation, and our pre-rolls are milled from whole BC Bud flower we grow ourselves — single-strain, with no shake or trim. We make two kinds: flower-only pre-rolls and infused pre-rolls with high-purity THCa added in-house. No middlemen, no third-party brands. Browse the pre-rolls below by strain and pack size, or sort by indica, sativa, and hybrid.

Whole Flower · Shake · Trim

Whole Flower vs Trim — What's in a Pre-Roll

Not all pre-rolls are filled the same way. The cheapest are often made from shake (loose flower fragments that collect at the bottom of jars) or trim (the small leaves cut from buds during manicuring, which carry fewer trichomes). Because a rolled joint hides what's inside, the quality of a pre-roll comes down to what the producer chooses to put in it.

VanCity Labs pre-rolls are milled from whole flower — the same single-strain BC Bud we sell as loose flower — with no shake or trim. The honest case for whole flower isn't that shake is unusable; it's freshness, no stray contamination, and single-strain consistency from one joint to the next. Whole flower is a description of what's inside, not a Health Canada grade, so what backs it up is the producer being straight about their input. Each product page lists the strain and labelled THC.

How VanCity Labs Makes Its Pre-Rolls

Every pre-roll we sell is made in-house at our BC facility. VanCity Labs has been growing cannabis for over 30 years as a vertically integrated operation — the same team grows the flower, mills it, fills the cones, and packages the pack, with no middlemen and no third-party brands. Our flower-only pre-rolls are milled whole-flower BC Bud; our infused pre-rolls add high-purity THCa, extracted in-house, for higher total cannabinoid content by weight. Every batch is finished to Lab Grade standards. Orders ship in Stealth Packaging across Canada by tracked courier — discreet by default.

Flower-Only · THCa-Infused

Flower-Only and Infused Pre-Rolls

VanCity Labs makes two kinds of pre-roll. Flower-only pre-rolls are milled whole-flower BC Bud, single-strain. Infused pre-rolls take the same whole flower and add high-purity THCa — crystalline THCa that converts to THC when heated — raising the total cannabinoid content by weight, so they test higher than flower alone. THCa is the same kind of concentrate we extract in-house. Each product page lists the exact size and pack count. New to pre-rolls or not sure which strain to pick? Frequently Asked Questions

What is a pre-roll?
A pre-roll is a cannabis joint that comes ready to smoke — already ground, rolled into a paper cone with a tip, and packaged. It saves you grinding and rolling your own. Pre-rolls are sold as singles or in multi-packs, most commonly in 0.5g and 1g sizes.
Are pre-rolls made from shake or trim?
Some are. Lower-cost pre-rolls are often filled with shake (loose flower fragments) or trim (leaf material cut from buds). VanCity Labs pre-rolls are different — they are milled from whole, single-strain BC Bud flower, with no shake or trim. Each product page lists the strain inside.
What is an infused pre-roll?
An infused pre-roll is a regular pre-roll with added cannabis concentrate, which raises its total cannabinoid content by weight. VanCity Labs infused pre-rolls use high-purity THCa added to whole-flower BC Bud. THCa is crystalline and converts to THC when heated, so an infused pre-roll tests higher than flower alone.
How are VanCity Labs pre-rolls made?
Every VanCity Labs pre-roll is made in-house at our BC facility. We are a vertically integrated operation with over 30 years in cannabis — we grow the flower, mill it, and roll the pre-rolls ourselves, with no middlemen and no third-party brands. Every batch is finished to Lab Grade standards.
How much flower is in a pre-roll?
It depends on the size. Pre-rolls are most commonly 0.5g or 1g each, and multi-packs bundle several together. Each VanCity Labs product page lists the size and the number of pre-rolls in the pack, along with the strain and labelled THC content, so you know exactly what you're getting.
What's the difference between a pre-roll and a joint?
They're essentially the same thing — a pre-roll is just a joint that's been ground, rolled, and packaged for you instead of rolled by hand. The term "pre-roll" is used because it's made ahead of time by the producer. The flower inside is what sets one apart from another. Our ten-packs are the box-of-joints format: ten 0.7 g pre-rolled joints of one strain in a single pack.
How should I store pre-rolls?
Keep pre-rolls in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, away from heat and direct light. Cannabis that gets too dry burns harsher and loses aroma, while too much humidity risks mould — a two-way humidity pack helps hold the right level. Stored well, flower keeps its quality for several months.
How are pre-rolls delivered?
All pre-roll orders ship in Stealth Packaging across Canada by tracked courier — discreet, unmarked outer packaging by default. Full details on shipping tiers, delivery times, and packaging live on our shipping policy page; more general questions are answered on our FAQ. Cannabis is sold to adults 19 and older in BC.
