What Is Gas Weed?
Gas weed is bud with a fuel smell. Open the bag and you get diesel, skunk or dank kush before anything sweet comes through.
"Gas" is also slang for good weed in general. A bag that is gas is sticky, strong and loud: you can smell it before you see it.
BC has its own gas. It comes from the heavy kush and diesel indicas that BC growers have been running for years, and four of them sit at the centre of our menu.

Pink Kush
Pink Kush AAAA is the strain many people picture when they hear BC bud. It is an OG Kush phenotype and an indica at 28% THC, with dense buds and pink-tinged hairs.
The nose is sweet: rose, florals and vanilla, sitting on an earthy kush base that turns gassy when you break a bud open. Effects are commonly described as relaxed, euphoric and sleepy.
It also comes as Pink Kush smalls, pre-rolls and live rosin, so you can have the same strain in a joint or a dab.
Death Bubba
Death Bubba AAAA was bred in Vancouver by Sea to Sky Cannabis, from Death Star x Bubba Kush. It is an indica at 32% THC.
This is the heavy one. Earthy, musky and skunky, with diesel and pine on top, and an effect commonly described as deeply relaxed and sleepy.
Prefer smaller buds? Death Bubba smalls are the same plant at 30% THC. For dabs, Death Bubba live rosin keeps the dank pine and earth.
Death Star
Death Star AAAA is the parent of Death Bubba: Sensi Star x Sour Diesel, an indica at 31% THC.
The Sour Diesel side gives it more fuel than the other three. Expect diesel-skunk funk first, then a sweet, earthy depth underneath.
Rockstar
Rockstar smalls are Rockbud x Sensi Star, the same Sensi Star family as Death Star. It is an indica at 29% THC.
Rockstar is spicy and skunky with gas and a grape edge. Effects are commonly described as sleepy, relaxed and calm, so many people save it for the evening.

Gas Mask AAA is Cherry Pie x Fire Alien Kush, an indica at 29% THC with sharp diesel, dark coffee and chem notes.
Chemdawg AAA is the old-school chem strain, often listed as Nepalese x Thai. It is a hybrid at 27% THC that smells chemical, pungent and full of diesel.
Why Does Weed Smell Like Gas?
Terpenes like myrcene, caryophyllene and limonene shape a lot of weed's smell, and all four BC strains above carry them. You can look them up in our terpene library.
But the fuel and skunk part comes from somewhere else. A 2021 study in ACS Omega found that tiny amounts of sulfur compounds are behind much of weed's skunky, gassy smell.
Those compounds peak during curing and fade in storage. That is why a gas strain smells strong straight out of a well-cured, sealed bag, and why you should keep it sealed.

- Sweet and floral: Pink Kush, for florals and vanilla with a kush finish.
- Heavy and sleepy: Death Bubba, for a skunky, sleepy night.
- Straight fuel: Death Star, for straight Sour Diesel funk.
- Spice and grape: Rockstar, as smalls at a lower price per gram.
